Politically, I've never been more happy. Ryan is a brilliant mind, gets the big picture, seems to have some guiding principles, and appears to have a bright future ahead of him for a long time to come.
I know - politicians always let us down. I get that. But at least now the is some semblence of hope, be it misguided or not.
My man-crush continues.
Bring on the campaign!
I like Paul Ryan and look forward to the VP debate were he will crush Joe Biden (who at best fought Sarah Palin to a draw).
ReplyDeleteDo you think that the selection will move Wisconsin and its 10 electoral votes to the GOP? I think Romney should have made a geo-strategic pick and found a VP that can swing a state.
IF Ryan can swing Wisconsin it is a good pick. Otherwise, I believe that the GOP would be better served if he would have stayed in the House.
House,
ReplyDeleteI do think Ryan will deliver WI to the GOP. Having the announcement at the BB Wisconsin was no fluke, and Ryan will com through.
I think you are right. IN 2008, Obama whipped McCain by over 400,000 votes but in 2012 Wisconsin is much tighter, maybe as tight as it was in 2004 when Kerry won the state by 11,000 votes.
ReplyDeleteIn 2008, a very heavy Democratic year Paul Ryan won his Congressional seat by 100,000 votes in a district that was +4% for Obama. I calculate that at least 50,000 votes in the First will swing to Romney alone and that should be enough to win those 10 electoral votes.
